OK, so I'm not blogging from my new apartment this time, I'm actually at...drum roll...the airport! I'm in Dallas on a layover to Amarillo where I catch a ride to Canyon and do a show at a college tonight. I'm really tired and I feel like I may be coming down with something. Sucks.

But I am all moved in with Ally now, so that's good. It was weird, last night I spent the night at my old apartment (technically it's still my apartment, I'm paid through the end of Nov.) because it was closer to LAX than my new one. So I'm in my room and it is completely bare aside from a lamp and my bed; it was like it was when I first moved in...minus the shitty carpet and oddly stained walls. I've had some fun in that room in the past 9 years. Anyway, it was a little sad; that was the last night I'm going to spend there.

A lot of amazing memories:

  • The excitement of moving into my first apartment.
  • Writing scripts and jokes in that room.
  • Laughing with friends.
  • Watching movies and playing Guitar Hero on my roommate's insane HD TV.
  • Other things that I can't really mention since I'm living with my girlfriend now. :)

And of course the shitty memories:

  • Writing endless dribble on my bed about lonliness.
  • Finding ants all over our apartment.
  • Running for President and picking that governor as my running mate...wait, that wasn't me.

My point is, I'm going to miss that place. It holds a special place in my heart. It's that place that I'm going to drive by in 10 years with fondness as "my first LA apartment". It would be neat if by then someone would be saying, "Dude, I'm living in the apartment that Flip Schultz lived in for 9 years!" I wonder if big stars ever go back to their first LA apartments and look around.

Seriously, how weird would it be if you get a knock on your door and Tom Hanks is standing there and he's like, "Hi, I'm Tom Hanks. I lived here 30 years ago when I first came to LA...mind if I look around a bit?"

Oh the fun.

Oh, speaking of celebrities, when I got to LAX this morning, I immediately noticed a celebrity....Paul Williams, from Phantom of the Paradise. An incredibly underrated musical movie. It was pretty cool.

OK, I'm going to get ready to board now, see ya. And a little FYI, I've been drinking coffee and had some fruit...you can bet that airplane bathroom is going to be occupied. :D

I am at the tail end of my moving adventure. All that's left at my old apartment is this computer that I am using right now; everything else of mine is now at me and Ally's apartment.

That sounds so bizarre to me; I'm now living with my girlfriend. But you know, as bizarre as it sounds, it doesn't feel weird at all. It feels absolutely right.

So what else to report?

Well last night Jamie shot his new comedy special (which I opened for and will appear on a few DVD extras) and it was great. He put on a helluva show and the crowd was amazing. I could tell that he was a bit aware of the shooting, but he didn't let that affect his performance. There was actually a few great moments with the audience that I hope they keep in.

Jennifer was there too; they so freakin' cute together....OH!

I just realized that I didn't blog about what happened the night of my birthday in Vegas...just after my last blog.

So I'm in my room and my dad tells me that he's coming down and we're going to go hit the tables. Cool. So he knocks on my door and he says, "I got another surprise for you." Now, by the way he was standing, I swear I thought he was going to fart on me. That's just something my dad would do. But instead, he moves out of the doorway and Ally jumps in the room yelling "surprise!"

SHE FUCKING DROVE TO VEGAS TO SURPRISE ME ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!

How unreal is that? She's just so incredible.

So then me and my dad were supposed to see Terry Fator that night, but we only had 2 tickets lined up. So I called my friend at the show and he managed to get 3 incredible tickets that all of us could see the show. Thank you Rick.

Terry's show was great, and we all got to say hi to him after the show.

Then came the cherry on the cake.

After the show we went to this amazing steak place at the Wynn called 'S.W.'. It was soooo fucking good! I mean seriously, one of the best filet's I've ever had. Now, at the end of dinner, they waiters bring out a cake and a card. I open the card and it says, "From Kennedy & Love."

Jamie picked up the entire tab for my birthday! I mean seriously, is that the coolest fucking thing???

He's become a real friend, you know? Not the whole, "Hollywood" friend thing, I mean a real friend. And I'm really proud and impressed with his a comedian. He has grown leaps and bounds from his last special. Just wait until you see it.

Well kids, I've gotta get back to moving. I hope you guys are smiling and the next blog should be from my new digs. :)

Greetings from Sin City. I'm down about $50 but up a year! Yes, it's my birthday!!!

First of all, I have to thank (from the bottom of my heart; sincerly) everyone who's sent me birthday wishes...starting yesterday! I swear I've gotten about 200 or so facebook posts with well wishes. Seriously guys, thank you.

So Dad and I are having fun in Vegas now. Last night he bought us tickets to see "The Lion King" at Mandalay Bay...WOW! I mean what a fucking show!! From the direction, to the choreography to the costumes...THE COSTUMES! Just incredible. It was an amazing time.

I was really exhausted last night though; that had to do with a lack of sleep from the night before. Long story short, I shared a room with my dad, who is the world's LOUDEST snorer, and couldn't fall to sleep. It was so bad, I actually took the linens and pillows off of the bed and slept for 6 hours in the bathroom...on the floor...under the sink.

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

Now, with my own room, I slept better last night. Though I did have the songs from the show stuck in my head. Hakkuna Matata must really mean "annoying song when you're trying to sleep".

So I'm just making quick blog here, back to the tables.

And again, thank you all for the birthday wishes!!

Hey, guess where I am? You got it, the airport!!! Yay!

I just finished my last show in Addison with Jamie and it was great. He's shooting his new Comedy Central special next weekend and I've been helping him put the show together (which has been a lot of fun) and I'm going to be opening the show for him when he shoots. He's been really good to me this last year or so, and he's become a good friend. It's nice that "Hollywood" people are really good people, ya know? His girlfriend, Jennifer Love Hewitt, is the same way. Just really refreshing.

So anyway, I'm flying to Vegas now to meet my dad. We're going to be spending a couple of days there for the celebration.

What's that? You don't know what the celebration is for?

Oh come now people, you know that you've marked this day on your calender. You've been as eager as I have for this day. I know kids have been begging their parents to get gifts for this day.

People! C'mon!!!

Well, fine, I guess if you forgot, I'll remind you.

This Tuesday, Nov. 10, is....

MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!

But seriously, I'm not reminding you anymore. ;)

This is going to be a lot of fun. Although tonight I'm just looking forward to getting to the hotel and sleeping. Tomorrow starts the celebration.

Well kids, I'm going to get ready to board. See ya in sin city.

Why is it that lately when I blog, it's from an airport?

I'm sitting on my ass at the Ft. Lauderdale airport waiting to take a night flight back to LA. My God, I'm sick of traveling. And to make this trip extra worse...MIDDLE SEAT! I'm going to try and change it, but if I can't, oh well. I'm just psyched to get back to LA.

But this trip back is a lot tougher than other times I have left Florida. This time I'm leaving Lily. I can't explain how painful it is to say good-bye to that little girl. And I know I'll be back here soon enough, but by then, she might be crawling, or holding her bottle; basically, I'll have missed part of her growing up.

This is really one of the bigger sacrifices I have made. And I'm feeling it.

There are a lot of people waiting at the terminal; I have a sneaking feeling that this is going to be a full flight. I better piss now because (sitting in the middle seat) would make it very difficult to roam freely to the bathroom.

Change of subject...

I can't believe I'm going back to LA. It has been over 2 1/2 months. And then Friday, I get to fly out again to Texas to work with Jamie at the Improv, and then I fly right to Vegas for my birthday! And my dad is going to meet me there. Should be a blast.

OK, there's someone here from the airline; going to try and change my seat.
