FROM SHONEY'S TO PHAT BEACH

by Micheal Korensky

When asked about his goals as a performer, local comedian Flip Schultz says, "You don't get into this business and say to yourself, 'You know, I want to be scrounging out a living. I just want to get by. Yeah, that's my goal.'"

So far the 1992 Plantation High grad known for his impersonations, strechable face and song parodies has accomplished his goal.

Aside from working about every local club (including a banquet for his mother's friends at Shoney's), the young comedian has chalked up a number of impressive accomplishments. He won the Seinfeld Comedy Challenge at Sawgrass Mills Mall a couple of years ago. He was a finalist on E! Entertainment Television's Talent Search, appeared in the movie Phat Beach and has opened for Pauly Shore, Bobby Slayton and Diane Ford, just to name a few.

Schultz will appear at Uncle Funny's through Sunday with Micheal Collins and Ken Vehec.
